Sajak mea culpa: I introduced KO to the national viewing audience

I was glad KO was put back on the air, if for no other than the continued documentation of how insane the American Left actually is. Also, there was a bit of a principle involved, and KO was nice enough to give a shout-out to the Conservatives who thought MSNBC dun goofed by removing him from the airwaves on said principle.

That being said, here’s an interesting one from Pat Sajak – before I share the whole thing, a quick story.

My sister and a friend of hers lived in Denver in the 1990s, and during the Blizzard of ’96, they trudged downtown to have cocktails at The Cruise Room inside the Oxford Hotel. They wound up having drinks with none other than Pat Sajak and actor Brian Brown, of Cocktail fame. They said both men were extremely nice and un-pretentious, always nice to hear about relatively famous people.

I’m not sure how he morphed into the bitter-sounding, hate-mongering name-caller he’s become, but I’m sorry he did. I liked the guy, and he was always a good guest. Maybe it’s just show business and trying to find a place in it and building an audience, but I don’t know. We were never friends away from the show, so I can’t even guess what drives him.

I do know that to whatever extent the political well has been poisoned, Keith has dumped more than his share of venom into the water. I’d like to think he knows that and maybe even regrets it. I liked the Keith Olbermann of 1989. This tape reminded me that I miss him.
