WhaTCKAS: Herman Cain – ‘I absolutely would defund Planned Parenthood

Cain is best known in Conservative circles for fiscal matters. If he continues rhetoric like this, he’ll be moving up from long-shot to possible contender real fast in the ’12 sweepstakes. I don’t know enough about Cain yet to get behind him, but I’m learning … fast.

Also of note, I was listening to Mark Davis’s show out of DFW this morning when Texas Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams announced he’s resigning his seat as of April 2 and likely run for Senate. Davis only had a couple minutes with him, but Williams said he was for a repeal of Obamacare, not an overhaul, and also spoke highly of the flat tax, the Tea Party movement, etc.

Note to potential ’12 candidates: Be this Conservative, and you will rise from obscurity quickly. Very, very quickly.

Before getting to the Cain goodness, I want to be honest about something, considering I was telling a friend this today: I am currently very, very wary of White Men Running As Republicans. With very few exceptions, they have proven time and time again to be spineless and too willing to play ball with Democrats. I don’t know if they’re scared of being labeled an -ist, but it’s women who are leading Conservatism right now, and there are a slew of talented men like Williams and Cain out there considering runs for Federal office.

I hatehatehatehatehate identity politics, but it has neutered many White Men in speaking, what’s that phrase? – truth to power. I hate the phrase, but it’s apt here. There are White Men who are putting it on the line – Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor and Tom Coburn all come to mind – but most seem more interested in inter-party politics than standing up for Conservatism. As Conservatism is not about race, I hope more non-White-Men consider runs for office as Conservatives first. We need strong Conservatives now more than ever, and make no mistake, there will be more than a few Republican White Men who have held power for a long time looking for a new career in two years. Someone has to take their jobs.

Alright, to Cain – and this has been posted so many places that I’ll not be h/t-ing:

In a new interview, Cain tells American Family Radio’s “Focal Point” program that he is pro-life and opposes the agenda of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s biggest abortion business.“I absolutely would defund Planned Parenthood — not because I don’t believe in planning parenthood, [but because] Planned Parenthood as an organization is an absolute farce on the American people,” he said.Cain, who is African-American, accused the abortion business of engaging in a racist agenda.“People who know the history of Margaret Sanger, who started Planned Parenthood, they know that the intention was not to help young women who get pregnant to plan their parenthood. No — it was a sham to be able to kill black babies,” he added. He told the program that proof of the agenda is seen in the fact that  “75 percent of all Planned Parenthood facilities are located in black neighborhoods.”

What is startling to me is how few people who are passively Pro Choice understand the history of the abortion movement, particularly Sanger and Planned Parenthood. It has its roots in eugenics and the silent genocide it has perpetrated, especially in poor, non-white communities around the country. There is nothing safe, legal and/or rare about the organization’s mission – it is a Child-Killing Factory, plain and simple.

Check it.
